Dream Act

I saw this short clip that goes through the facts and statistics about immigration. I liked how it explains everything in how it really works. It shows how some people would rather let the immigrants stay other that send them back. The reason they could stay is only if they pay taxes.

day 6

today in our government class we watched a short movie which talked about the effects the troop members have when they come back from the war. i think that they should not be offended. like the guy who was chard because he was afraid of what he saw and some other that did not want to say anything because the were gong to be told they were cowards. they talked about how in the old days they would just get killed f they were afraid. i don't think that was the best way to solve this problem and i think they should help others that face mental problems to. Tomorrow Im going to see what you need help in and just do what i can.

Korean War

I was doing some web search and i saw this interesting article about how they think Japan was involved in the 1950 to 1953 war. It talks about if the second war were to happen which is at this moment that they will participate again.

day 5

To day we went to our future economics teacher and presented. I was amazed because one of the students actually started tearing up and touched my heart.  think this was a great idea and well i feel good that I get to be a part of it. Tomorrow I'm going to go and help in lunch. I'm going to see if i can get other to go with me and see how many people i can get to wright letters.

day 4

We went to one class to present and we saw that some students actually like what we are doing. some asked us questions in how many letters they could wright. I think we can actually get the 1000 letters we are shooting for. For tomorrow i will arrive early to see if we are still going to different classes to present.

day 3

We went over what we should say in the presentations for tomorrow. This consisted of what was our goal, what they could wright in the letters, what they cant wright, and were they can get more info. For tomorrow we are going to go and actually present so today I am getting ready for what I'm going to say.

day2

I show my images to some of the partners in class and to you. i saved them to your computer labeled as support the troops and the second one as they do their part lets do ours. Monday i will be creating more images and designing something that i think is pretty cool and i told other my idea and they like it.

final project day one

Today i started browsing some images that we can use to show people what we are doing. Some pictures that i thought were good, was picture of troops showing us what they do for other and for our country. This could show the students and teacher how they could do something simple for them to show our gratitude. A good slogan i thought of was "they are doing their part lets do ours". For tomorrow i am going make some flyers with that slogan and when i get home try to do new images on the computer.

Teacher interview to Mr. Gomez

1.Do you think that starting school late every day will help students?

It will help them. They will be more alert, awake, and better focused. It would also help them eat a better breakfast.

2.Are the hours of this school affecting the student?

It affects them one way or another, if we are entering late or not. The school system is fine.

3.How do you fell about no child left behind?

It has good intensions. It’s forced and causes teachers to teach tests.

4.How do you feel about unions?

They are good things when used properly. Most unions take advantages to its members.

5.Should parents be allowed to choose their children’s school?

We should have freedom to choose the school. But the kids in the area should have first privilege to go in the school near them.

6.What degree should teachers have to be able to teach?

They should have a bachelors and a teaching credential.

7.Should test determine the capability of your students?

No because theirs test that just reflect on some types of intelligent. Like having the capability of taking a test.

8.Are classes in this school helping students prepare for college?

Yes all subjects help students. It just depends if they want to apply them.

9.Should teachers be paid based on their student’s grades?

No. Teachers should have a start pay and should be rewarded based on their student’s grades. They should have merit pay.

10.Does money make difference in the students learning?

Yes because it helps boost moral spirit to the school. Better materials helps students learn better.

Class discussion

What I thought a bout the discussion is that the class was divided mostly in half. Half for the Arizona SB 1070 and the other against and a few were in the middle. I disagree with the Arizona SB because the way they will target the people yes they should do something of about the over population of the immigrants but in a different way not just of suspicion of being illegal. Specially because the majority is from Latin America. These people feel targeted the most. Yes they are illegal but they want a better life and they are looking for it and they find it in America. I personally don’t blame them because these countries they come from are in bad conditions. My personal experience from living in Oaxaca Mexico really opened my eye to what was going on in my parents country. We did not have school for several days because the teachers were paid to little and they would cause destruction in the hart of the city. Yes Mexico has problems and come to the US but that’s because the US is the closest country that is a safe place. People that can come to the country legally or get there papers are people with money. What I know from asking the requirements fro a visa to travel is really expensive you need 100,000 pesos to get one and most people don’t have money to eat every day that’s why they come to America to make money. People say that they should solve there own problems instead of running away from them but isn’t that the reason why America was created people that wanted to get away from England and also from other countries.
How should they take information from the war captives is a hard choice to make. If you just scream at them good cop bad cop it wont work. The only way to get information from them is treating their families and well beating the info out of them. Any other way wont work.

Arizona Immigration Law

Two of the legislative brains behind Arizona's controversial SB 1070 immigration law are now targeting the 14th amendment. They will provide citizenship to the kids born in the soil of the US, but  label the children of immigrants when they are born.
